I’m from Brazil where bikinis are the norm like from birth until granny hood. Eww you say, that’s so inappropriate! Nah, we just don’t sexualize it. It is what it is. There are cute age appropriate bikinis for girls. Oh and boys and men wear speedos at the beach. The horror!
But that’s the difference. In our country, bikinis are considered sexy. Which is why they don’t belong on prepubescent children.
in whose country? I just bought this https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=807789002&cid=45211&pcid=45211&vid=1&nav=meganav%3AGirls%3AShop%20Girls%20Categories%3ASwimsuits&cpos=37&cexp=2223&kcid=CategoryIDs%3D45211&cvar=16849&ctype=Listing&cpid=res22060414527012753545778#pdp-page-content for my 8 year old. If anyone in "our country" looks at her and considers it "sexy"...that's their problem. Gross.
I posted the orange version of this as something I bought for my 3rd grader, too. It's not sexy and the only difference between it and the one piece that the uptight lady above puts her kid in is less than 2 inches of abdomen. I had no idea 8yo belly buttons were so sexy, thank you for educating me crazy ladies.
