Thx! DD would love to keep swimming but I wasn’t sure if it would work. She plans to do marching band so likely will need to dial practices back over the fall to accommodate.
It works if they do club swim in the mornings (mine did 4:30-6:30). If they love swim and band, it will be very doable, and help them to stay happy, healthy, and able to manage their workload better.
Did your child sleep? Don't get me wrong I love the idea of doing swim before school but between homework and sleep I think it would be hard.
Yes, at 9p, but swim was only 4 mornings, so he slept in 3 days out of the week. He has a lot of self discipline, but he's not the only one. There are a lot of kids who do this. If they love it, they can do it. It really instills great time management skills. It also takes parent discipline and sacrifice wrt picking up from band practice and having dinner ready so they can eat in the car on swim nights. It was honestly kind of tough for me, but his strength gave me strength. Plus it's really only for a couple of years because eventually they drive themselves home. My advice is to savor every minute of those long car rides home.
I don't doubt that it was tough, but thanks for clarifying.
