Sounds like he's a beta male.  Is he physically weak?  Could most men beat him in a fight?  Is he weak, small, short, shrimpy, or overweight?

Is he mentally/emotionally beta?  Does he desperately seek out the approval of other men?

Wanting to avoid fights doesn't make you beta, it makes you smart. I'll fight to the death to defend my life or that of a loved one but I'm not going to risk a criminal charge or lawsuit because some loser hit on my wife. The more you have to lose, the less you want to risk it by getting in to random street brawls. It's usually the guys who have nothing going for them who are quick to throw punches.[/quote]
