If anything, my kid reported that the disadvantaged kids they knew were afraid for anyone to know they were disadvantaged lest they be seen as ''unprepared,'' ''an affirmative action admit,'' ''unqualified,'' ''poor,'' ''depressing,'' and a whole slew of other names.
