Kids with older siblings 100% know. The worst is when older siblings get in but younger did not. Ask me how I know. We did appeal and get him in.
This is our current situation. I described it my my dd as a bit of a lottery. Your scores get you in the pool, but there aren’t enough slots for everyone, so we just need to wait and see.
I mentioned it to my DS but he said he doesn't want to be in the "hard" class.
Exactly, when I explained my DS, what AAP is, he said “oh more and difficult work, No Thanks”
Technically, it won’t be more and/or hard for AAP kids. Right? My DD has no idea on what’s AAP since we never told her what are the NNAT or COGAT. DD has no idea on the scores and the process (she is in the pool). I just told her, MAYBE IF she gets a chance to study with many other very smart kids in a new school, does she want to do that. She said yes. She has many friends in the base school. My husband was in talented class in FCPS when he was a kid. He hates it mostly bc other kids making fun of kids in those classes. But he is supportive if DD is admitted and she is truly qualified and needs the fun stuff to learn.
