DCUM doesn't seem to understand that this isn't the life goal of many people, even many highly educated people. Have you ever been up close and personal to an academic community? I have 5 siblings/cousins with elite PhDs. None of them are motivated by money at all. I work in medicine in a non-lucrative sub-speciality. No one I know from my training program (or frankly in my field) is motivated primarily by money. We had big money within our grasp (most of us were near the of our classes in our respective medical schools) and we chose not to take it. In fact, many of us didn't even give it a thought. [/quote]
