Athletes also have to balance two rigorous activities - sports and athletics. That is very hard to do, and may show a commitment to a more balanced, interesting lifestyle. So, the major doesn’t matter because the employer is not hiring an athlete for their major. Instead, they’re hiring a really smart, attractive person with character who is likely to succeed. What about students at top schools with perfect grades? Well, that’s great for a PhD, but not for competitive business, law, and medicine. Just some thoughts. [/quote]
