I don't know WHY the progressives are so against limits - all 330 million Americans didn't need $1,200 checks and every parent in existence also didn't need $300/month per kid - to the point they were insisting (and still are) undocumented immigrants get the child tax credits and stimulus payments as well. I found out recently that in Baltimore City, the city used the COVID emergency funds received from the feds to give every school kid in the public schools a 1500 food stamp voucher, regardless of family income. I knew people with HHI over 400k who still got the food stamp voucher, including one family with three kids who netted 4500 altogether despite a high six figure income.
