The mask mandate is a farce and political theater for everyone except our school aged kids. I went to a show at the Fillmore silver spring yesterday and 5% of people were wearing masks. I’m boostered and at this point, just want to get covid so I don’t have to worry about being stranded by international travel.
+1 million
Same. Vaxed, boosted, and I'm hoping to (1) not catch it before an omicron booster is made available to me; or (2) catch it before my next international trip in April. I'm not doing anything to make (1) happen. It's not worth it, and I'm not sure it'll happen before April. (2) is fine with me. I'm sure it'll suck, but whatever. With the R0 so high, and leaky (though excellent, amazing, and life-saving) vaccines, herd immunity is mathematically impossible. (R0 - 1)/ R0 / VE. Call me an armchair epidemiologist if you want. I get it, most people are stupid, math is hard, and it's easier to lash out at people on the internet than it is to believe the hard truth. In the United States, we won't even get close.
