A - McConnell called Manchin and Sinema before he even announced that deal. They approved it B - The debt ceiling and government shutdown have both been punted to December. Guess what else ends in December? The child tax credit. The progressives are in a lose-lose situation. If they push it now for more than Manchin’s offer - the entire deal blows up. If they wait till Christmas - it’ll all blow up and expire anyway. Plus small tip - the Senate gets reaaaalll cranky around Christmas. They do not want to be here in session for any reason.
