The best move I ever made was to a low-income neighborhood in DC 20 years ago. The people were welcoming and I learned to say hi to strangers on the street. Even with the gentrification in recent years, the neighborhood continues to be friendly. Seriously, folks, if the people in your neighborhood are rude, consider moving to another neighborhood.
