I went to Trader Joe's last night and haven't seen a single maskless person. Not one! And I'm vaccinated, as, I'm sure, is the overwhelming majority of people who were there at the time. Just my 2 cents.
I’ve not gone into a store that has dropped the mask requirement and I wonder if I will feel comfortable taking it off once I do. Not because I don’t feel safe, because I’m fully vaxxed and feel protected, but just because I don’t want to get hassled by other people!
I would wear a mask for the staff, because the staff don't know that I'm fully vaccinated.
If they see you with a mask they will assume you are not vaccinated.
They might just assume you are smart or careful or have kids. I don’t know any responsible adults, especially parents who are not wearing masks indoors.
Or maybe they just don’t think or care about you at all, because they had the opportunity to be vaccinated like everyone else.
Agreed - most Americans are inherently selfish and ignorant. They give zeros effs about kids or the immunocompromised. [/quote] Unbelievable. The entire nation sacrificed events and school and jobs and freedom of movement and billions of dollars in economic growth, along with trillions in future taxes to pay for COVID-related expenses. To expect anyone to continue sacrificing those things for the incredibly minuscule risk to kids from COVID (yes, documented by science) goes way beyond selfishness. While I am sorry for the immunocompromised, they are always at constant risk from a myriad of infections and would have been before COVID and still will be after COVID. They must take necessary precautions to protect themselves. It is unreasonable to expect that others should bear that responsibility.
+1 We could go down a list of things people could do to protect others: - stop speeding -don’t have a few glasses of wine and then drive home -stop using single use plastic for your Starbucks latte so our kids have an inhabitable planet Stop acting like only vaccinated people who don’t want to wear masks are selfish. Even people hunkering down in their houses are selfish. We all act in our own self interest.
