The vast majority of conversations I’ve had with neighbors over the past 2-3years have all been political. How could it not be if you’re paying attention?! Had neighbors over last night and we talked politics. My book group talks about politics. My mom visited 20 years ago and we had an Easter party. My mom said that she loved how everyone talked politics, so it’s nothing new, but definitely heightened. [/quote]

Pre-Trump, my neighborhood would occasionally talk about hot political topics. Lots of well-informed folks. Some actually involved.

But the daily nightmare of Trump was impossible to ignore. A few Trump voters never wanted to discuss - probably because they were embarrassed - but the never-trumpers, moderates, liberals, and even apolitical people all discussed regularly. How could you not?
