How can you be 145 and 5'3" and wear a size ten?  I'm 10 pounds lighter and wear a size 10.  Do  your clothes feel like an old-fashioned girdle?

Then this will blow your mind.  I'm 5'4" and weigh 148.  I wear a size 6 or 8, depending on the brand.  I am naturally muscular and just weigh more.  Whenever someone tries to guess my weight, they always guess 15-20 pounds lighter than I am.  I'm also curvy with a flat tummy so that helps.[/quote]

Yep, people have different frames. I'm 138, 5'2" and between an 8 and 10 (8 on top, 10 on bottom usually). But like the immediate PP, I am curvy with a flat tummy, and muscular. I've always weighed more than I "looked."

But to address the original question, I do not think a 12 is fat. Could be, but at the same time, might not be. [/quote]
