I’m a very picky eater. My DH loves everything, including me. My eating does not bother him one bit.
I would guess this is a more typical scenario. The depths of DCUM shallowness never cease to amaze me.
How is it shallow? Last time I checked, human beings have to eat everyday, multiple times a day. Most people don't want to play short order cook every dinner to accommodate a limited palate. Most parents want to teach their kids to eat a healthy diet with a wide range of foods, appreciate different cuisines, etc. It's hard to do that when one parents doesn't eat vegetables or won't eat foods from other cuisines that falls outside a limited list of things they will eat. Like most picky eaters, they'll probably make their disgust clear. This is an issue that literally affects the minutiae of everyday life. It's going to get old really fast. It's actually irresponsible to not think about whether you can live with this characteristic in a life partner.
