Actually, like alcohol use, smoking tobacco goes back 5000 years and is culturally significant in many cultures, but usually on ceremony, not as a frequent habit. But hey,myou keep defending your daily poison, your way.

The NIH doc with the Italian/Swiss study actually discredits the statement that "alcohol is the same as cigarettes" if you actually read the study (I know, I know, so much to ask). And they found an elevated (75%) risk of some of the cancers studied for drinkers at 2 standard drinks a day. Nothing in this about levels less than that, which is what most people in this thread are talking about.  [/quote]
