For whatever reason, SCOTUS control is a "controls my vote" issue for more Rs than Ds. If they know the seat is filled and safe, it frees more of them up to vote for Biden. Which is silly because RBG would have stepped down as soon as Biden was in office anyway, but not everybody is rational when it comes to politics.[/quote]
