It seems like there are some houses near College Park that are quite inexpensive compared to what they'd cost in NoVa. So your money may go further. It does seem like private school might be required. Realtors in PG don't even bother most of the time to note the school assignments and the web pages for some of the schools, such as Northwestern HS, emphasize that the school has large and growing ESOL and FARMS populations, while not featuring the school's course catalogs. In addition, many will feature communications from the school principals that are full of grammar and syntax errors. It's almost anti-marketing for those who'd want their kids to get a good education.
MoCo (non Silver Spring) resident here so I don't have a dog in this fight but your statement about realtors in PG not bothering to put in school assignments in their listing is false. Just open up any PG listing and you can see for yourself that school assignments are listed there. Next, why would they post the web page of the school in their listing? I've never seen that practice before. Also, there is a course catalog on the PG county school web site: https://www.pgcps.org/courses-and-programs-of-study/. Courses are usually listed at the county level because the courses are available at all schools for the most part. Finally, you really don't get to talk about grammar errors when you yourself can't write a comprehensible post. What are you saying now about Northwestern High School's emphasis on it's growing ESOL and FARMS population?
Your reading comprehension skills are seriously lacking. PG realtors regularly fail to identify the schools for their listings. That is almost never the case in NoVa or western MoCo. And it's the school web sites maintained by PGCPS that are underwhelming when it comes to specific course offerings. The link you provided is just a compilation of all the courses that may be offered at PGCPS schools, with the disclaimer that individual schools may not offer all those courses. Other school systems are much clearer as to the courses actually offered at individual schools. And you wonder why people go private there...
NP - please share an example where they do not list the schools.
