https://web.archive.org/web/20131106234045/https://onemontgomery.wordpress.com/ Do you mean this from their original introduction? Schools are the centerpiece of a thriving community and are directly linked to the development of our children into contributing members of our community. The success and perception of our schools also affects our property values, safety and local economic development.
They're not wrong.
Seriously what is wrong with this? Our property taxes fund lots of things we ALL benefit from including our public school system https://bethesdamagazine.com/bethesda-beat/5-9-billion-montgomery-budget-plan-includes-supplemental-property-tax-for-school-funding/
The school board is not responsible for protecting your property values. Also, according to many people on these boards there's a lot of families in Silver Spring that are chomping at the bit for boundary changes because their property values are going to skyrocket when they suddenly get rezoned to Whitman. lol. Therefore some people's property values will go up and some will go down. No lost tax revenue!
