Wow way to twist my words. I never said I expected my MIL to throw me a bday party I said I want acknowledgement of my bday that's a far cry from saying I want a bday party. Acknowledgement could be anything from a text to a card. Yes if every other member even extended family such as nieces and nephews that she sees literally once a year get acknowledged then I feel I should be too. You treat family as equal not just leaving out one member. My mom always texts my husband and even sends a gift on his bday. I don't even expect a gift just a freaking text or a card[/quote]

Going to take a wild guess but her nieces and nephews are probably under 18.

No I don't believe you did say you called her or gave her birthday gifts.

If the nieces and nephews are 20 + I'm guessing you're 30 to 40 and  thus way too old to care about petty things like who texts you for your birthday.[/quote]
