Non-custodial dad paying alimony and child support. 2/3 of my paycheck. Also buy all the new clothes and shoes and jackets. Stuff the child support should cover. Ex doesn’t use in network doctors, doesn’t get referrals, and screams when I don’t immediately pay half of the bill. No heads up that she decided to forego the 5 min pain of getting a referral. But I pay.
You sound like a great dad. I'm sorry this is happening to you.
+1. Unless you cheated. Then it explains why she is being horrible. Still doesn’t excuse it though. Doesn’t help the child to make one parent financially compromised. It is short sighted thinking.
Maybe she cheated. Did anyone not catch its not fair that he is a NCP and paying 2/3 plus a lot of extras so what does that leave him in terms of his own needs or expenses or paying for things like college. This is why Dad's cannot save for things like college. But, no one cares about that and leaving Dad broke.
Many of these men marry again and hide assets in the new wife’s name. My friend’s XH claims he has only a few thousand dollars a year in income from odd jobs. His new wife is supporting him on paper. He’s working under the table and enjoying a comfortable lifestyle.
You find all kinds of ways to shame Dads, some of whom are trying their best. If his wife is supporting him, you have no rights to her money. My husband's ex took us to court when we got married claiming her child support should be based on our household income. She didn't include her AP/boyfriends income despite living with him (and he wasn't paying his child support). You aren't entitled to a spouses money. All my money was premarriage. Luckily the judge agreed but it cost both of us a lot in attorney fees.
