It seems like there are two camps on this thread: People who are following all current recommendations and laws currently in place in their respective jurisdictions. People who want to scold the first group into engaging in some more stringent social distancing behavior, based solely on their own personal opinions. I live in DC, and the current recommendations allow socializing in small groups. Talk to the Mayor if you want that to change.
You are the worst of DC. What an entitled, short-sighted moron... with no values or character. Carry on.
I’m entitled and short-sighted because I’m complying with all governmental laws and recommendations, rather than the personal opinions of random people on the internet? Okay, dude.
No, you’re entitled and short-sighted because you are viewing this as a “letter of the law” thing. Yes, Mayor Bowser has put rules in place to stop the most idiotic behavior (e.g., people from packing bars and restaurants on 14th St). And yes, that’s all you have to do to not break any formal rules. But if you used your brain and listened to the experts, you’d understand that the only way to stop the spread of this disease (until we have a mass testing and contact-tracing regime like in S. Korea) is to limit contact with people outside your home as much as possible. That means, even though you’re technically allowed to, not having small gatherings and not having your kids’ friends over. You can keep calling people hysterical and do what makes your life least inconvenient, or you can reflect a bit and be a thoughtful member of your community.
