River cruises are very popular with a certain subset of retired people with disposable income. My parents go on two a year. The river cruises are preferred because they’re smaller boats, generally, with less time “at sea” and more time/stops in cities of interest. Luckily, my parents, who are in higher risk categories due to their age and health, have not been on a river cruise within the last four months and didn’t have their next one booked. Now I just have to convince them to avoid church and their social society gatherings for the next few months at least. [/quote]
