My DC got in and in algebra-2. What exactly is Math 4 & Math 5? Are they equivalent to pre-calculus? Only if DC satisfies the requirement for Placement test, can she take Math 4/5? Any guidance please. Thank you!
Why don't you ask the school!?
They place you after Fall semester. Algebra 2 is nothing to brag about. If they don’t feel your child has a solid understanding, it is your child’s best interest not to be pushed. Struggling in later advanced math courses is much much worse. You can’t go back after freshmen year, so trust the math placement. TJ math is no joke and is nothing like your base school math. Don’t let your ego get bruised if the placement is not what you want. Think mental health for your teen!
