I’m pro-DC statehood, though I realize it may never happen. But retrocession to Maryland stands as much of a chance as fighting the illegal retrocession of Alexandria from DC. Regardless, none of that ish has anything to do with the fact that there’s more parking at Union Station presently than Amtrak passengers require. But, anyway, I don’t sit in my home in DC and crab that it’s inconvenient or expensive for me to get to BWI and park there. Nor do I lament how difficult it is for me to drive to Frederick. When I moved here, being close to central DC was my priority. If being close to the suburbs was your priority, I don’t see why DC owes it to you to bend to your parking whims.
Yup. I live in Maryland. I don't expect the DC government to make it easy and convenient for me to drive through DC neighborhoods. Why should they? When I go to Union Station, I take the Metro. That's what it's there for.
