Though it seems like an eternity ago, there were plenty of middle-class district voters who picked Gray because he was the "good-government" alternative to the Fenty "scandals". Also, lots of charter school fans voted for Gray as a protest against Fenty's insufficient deference to the charter agenda.[/quote]
