What sort of evil religious is she?
It’s pretty sick that you’re making up sick scenarios about an anonymous poster based on zero info about her. What’s wrong with you?
OP literally described what she's doing. It's sick behavior.
Where? When? You’re fantasizing.
Can you even read. She described it. Evil. Her poor friend is dying and all she cares about is "gotcha!"
NP here and I agree. What a terrible friend. I hope cancer victim is not on dcum to see how her “friend” is responding to her sharing her very difficult news.
+1 Pretty shitty
OP asked a question to understand her atheist friend. You twisting this into something nefarious is the “gotcha.” But you probably can’t see what the rest of us see about your manipulation here.
NP. "The rest of us?" Ahahaha. You may not be on your own, but I -- like several other posters -- am appalled at OP.
+1 I’m not quite “appalled” but OP clearly disrespecting her friend.
How is trying to understand her friend, by asking here instead of confronting her friend, disrespecting her friend?
DP. If an atheist came to this forum and titled a post "Why do Christians give up on their beliefs?" and then proceeded to talk about how a supposedly dear, dying friend had confessed that she didn't believe in God anymore on her deathbed and asked for help processing that, I would also think that poster was an asshat like OP is. Anyone who uses the statements of a dying friend as a "gotcha" moment is vile. I've been called the "thoughtful atheist" on several threads in the past because I will disagree with anti-Christian atheist trolls if they show up. Here I think OP is equivalent of those trolls (and so are you). You are no better than the anti-Christian trolls. OPs behavior is terrible and should be called out for what it is. If you were actually living your Christian beliefs, you would see that.
I’m not a Christian. And I wouldn’t have any problem with an atheist showing up here and asking about a dying religious friend who had given up on faith. It’s a natural question. The answer might be something like, the friend couldn’t believe in a god who seemed to punish her, or who would leave her kids motherless, or something similar. Just like the thoughtful answers to OP have been along the lines of how there’s a spectrum of atheism to agnosticism and OP’s friend may not be a 100% atheist. There’s nothing wrong in asking these questions, and nothing wrong with answering them thoughtfully.
That's not what OP did, though. And you are mischaracterizing and/or ignoring the answers of many thoughtful posters, I assume for your own ends, so I am going to continue to classify you as similar to the anti-Christian atheist trolls. I am often on here defending religion even though I am atheist, but here I think OP (and you) are acting as badly as the atheist trolls you undoubtedly scream about regularly. It's gross.
PP here. To add on, I used to post a lot more and when it came up I would engage against anti-religion trolls even as an atheist. But I don't any more because some of the the religious posters on this forum are now as trollish as some of the atheists. I don't want to engage with trolls of any type. OP is just another religious troll.
I don’t read into the OP what you say you read. I think you’re overthinking this.
