If she had googled him she would have seen nothing to cause her alarm.  The age difference between them wasn't that great - she was 23, he 31.  As far as I'm aware he didn't have a criminal history, by all appearances he really did seem like a run of the mill computer geek.  Mackenzie obviously felt comfortable letting her guard down with him.

The business of meeting in the park at 3am with her baggage in tow indicates that there was a level of desperation involved in this for Mackenzie.  She either really, really needed money or drugs or both.[/quote]

She was on her way back from her grandmother's funeral. Someone paid for that plane ticket. Should have just asked them for some cash.[/quote]
