https://people.com/tv/luke-perry-dead-beverly-hills-90210-riverdale-actor-dies/ I usually don’t believe much TMZ says, and in this case I was definitely hoping they were wrong. But “People” tends to be more cautious about their stories and only post stuff like this when it’s already confirmed. This makes me so sad.
Actually... TMZ has has a reputation for trustworthy reporting. I know, I know, they're a complete joke of a "news organization" but TMZ is exceptionally careful regarding their reporting... especially when reporting deaths. I work for News Corp & prior to that, I worked for Viacom. Both corporations have always partnered with TMZ, as they somehow always get exclusives faster than any other site (it doesn't matter how much money Rubert Murdoch throws at a source, somehow TMZ gets them first). I will say, it took a lawsuit some years back for TMZ to tighten up their act & sail straight. Now, they're actually reputable for how seriously they take their fact checking. TMZ is not like the National Inquirer, OK! or even US Weekly, as the majority of those publications stories are questionable, filled with half truths & their mainly comprised of smoke and mirrors. They readily make up salacious, unbelievable quotes as told by their "anonymous source" so there's no way to verify truth. Yes, TMZ's subscribers are repulsive & complete dredges of society, however that doesn't mean that TMZ doesn't print fact. Truth be told, TMZ almost always scoops every other news organization internationally (no idea how they do it, my best guess is that Harvey Levin made a deal with the devil). The devil may work hard, but Kris Jenner works harder... and shilling right behind her is good old Harvey. RIP Luke Perry. (sorry to go off-topic for a moment).
