They will count over the weekend also. Elrich's lead is shrinking. If he gets the nomination, I'm voting Ficker.
Why not Floreen?
Different poster. I'm absolutely voting for Floreen if she's eligible to run.
Why?
Because I’m an insider and she’s competent. I trust her to appoint excellent department heads, which is critical. I absolutely don’t trust Blair to have a clue. I’m not a fan of Elrich because he’s disorganized and has a staff with a one track mind. They know how government works and that’s a plus. They are nice. But a CE has to care about all issues and the entire county. . Floreen will do that. Fussy and mean and grumpy. But she will do that. The policy direction you care about — development or anti-development — is more in the hands of the planning board and Council. And that newly privatized economic development entity— MCEDC. Which hasn’t done much. I quite frankly do not know whether this new Council will be competent or not. Far too much turnover. Time will tell.
If you're an insider, then you've surely seen her in action. And what she mostly shows, when in action, is not competence. If she were a different person, she could be competent. But she's not; she is who she is. As for the Council: Rice - incumbent Katz- incumbent Navarro - incumbent Hucker -incumbent Friedson - has worked in state government Riemer - incumbent Albornoz - has worked in county government Jawando - has worked in the federal government Glass - has been active in county issues So, 5 incumbents (including 2 I'd rather not have on the council), 4 new people all with experience of how government works. I'm feeling hopeful about the county council.
Hucker and Riemer are worthless.
I'm the PP you're responding to, and no, those weren't the 2 incumbents I had in mind.
