I am not sure I would appeal, especially if DS tests into compacted math and can go to the AAP center math classes (the center is at our school). However, I'm pretty sure I would need a WISC to appeal because he is not in the screening pool. Is it too late once they usually mail out the initial decision letters to get a WISC in time for appeal, or is there usually sufficient time? I'd rather wait until then if possible, both because of the expense and I want more time to think about it. I read a lot of messages in these threads already and didn't see the answer, but nevertheless apologize in advance if this question has been answered before. Thanks.
Notification letters for Fall 2011 placement will go out in late April. Appeals of decisions are due June 1 2011. http://www.fcps.edu/DIS/gt/timeline.html To me, it sounds like a very tight timeframe to both schedule a WISC-IV and have it done.
