Are you repenting because you know the clock is ticking and now you’re afraid? That’s absolutely not the same thing.[/quote] Or is he repenting because he hopes the judge will go easier on him? I don’t know why. But God can see into his heart. As the gospels make clear, it’s very hard to get into heaven. Jesus talked about how it’s easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven, for example. This idea that you can just declare belief and it’s all good is weird.[/quote]
