We applied through the "Private School" track as we just moved to Montgomery County and my child has been at a crowded DCPS school for the first part of the year. Report card was fine (some 'exceeds expectations), but that's because expectations are for just fine and they do not notice when a child can exceed expectations. My child's PARCC scores (Which I submitted with the application) were excellent, though.

So what next? Her local middle school (Sandy Creek) will probably have a number of gifted kids but as far as I'm aware, has no gifted program. It doesn't do any good to have a strong 'peer group' unless they can be taught in this peer group....[/quote]
