I've paid so we will ride it out. But for the parent that speaks for the rest of us at FCB, you obviously hang out with the other snowflakes. They are really professional, but it's almost to the point where it is really too much for a soccer environment. Overall the talent isn't very high and maybe in a few years they can train some of this kids up, but for now the aren't very many top talents in the club. I haven't talked to any Ex-DA player families so I think that's just a comment to artificially inflate the image of FCB. I was the one spending my time in williamburgs getting our asses handed to us. As I mentioned in my post, it's not about win/losses, but they did not look like a travel team or even a team that has trained for 4 months. Before you attack, it is my opinion, my money, my son so I have the right to voice my opinion. If you like the program then stick with it. Unless I see something different, we are done at the end of the program.
It's not your opinion that is questioned or debated, it is your motives. If you are hell bent on leaving then why post anything at all, especially disparagingly? I get it in the age of Yelp we feel the need to run to social media to either be heard or have our opinion validated. And opinions are like assholes, everyone has one so what makes your opinion valuable? What soccer environment did you come from or have had your kid involved in so that your opinion has more authority? I've moved my kids from a club and never felt the need to run down the previous club online. I also find your "snowflakes" comment about the other parents a tell as well. Why are parents who are happy or at least more patient than you "snowflakes"? And considering the meaning of "snowflake" as being fragile you are the only one coming onto a board to complain about a couple of tournament losses. Talk about a bruised ego. I hope you find happiness in your son's wins at another club. Please make your departure sooner than later.
My God! Can't you understand we are all here to review, critique, and commentate on any club's overall performance compared to our individual standards; and yes those are relative to an individual's expectations. Sounds like you're happy just to have your DC wear a Barcelona kit. This other parent is saying he doesn't see the service matching to the price and his opinion is the value isn't there, so he's leaving. Nothing wrong with that! FCB is not a club, it is a training program that at some point may make teams and place them in competition. I guarantee you will not be enamored with the program if your DC isn't chosen to be on a team. Has this parent said anything personally to you? Why so much animosity towards those people who aren't satisfied with the services they're paying for?
I don't care if they are happy or not, I simply don't understand the motivation, whether against FCB or any club, to bother to come online in a forum and bitch about a poor tourney outing. I just don't get it. And attack me if you will but since it is put out here I feel I can call them out on their complaint. What we have is someone who simply complained about a tournament loss. The poster didn't like how the team performed, based on 3 games after 4 months of training. Talk about high expectations. And other parents simply disagree with the performance assessment. The poster has absolutely zero complaints otherwise. They confirm the professionalism, they even agree that the training is well organized and professional. They complained about a result. So in a rather round about way all I have said is that they perhaps are a bit to impatient and over reacting to 3 games. I mean after several years in soccer my kids team got shut out at a tournament too and looked bad doing it. It happens, but I didn't come onto a forum and run the club down because of the result of 3 soccer games. So that was the round about version. Here is the direct version, ANYONE who gets that upset over a tournament is frankly effing stupid and should leave. Move the eff on and bitch elsewhere. They cry over losing three games and then call other parents snowflakes?
Truthfully, he sounds like many of the travel parents we use to have to share the sidelines with. This is definitely not the program for somebody like that. There are a lot of dads that think they are soccer experts, but could not identify what is truly good or bad. For one, the player off-the-ball movement is a biggie and some of the prima donna travel players Clubs salivate over just don't have it or the soccer IQ to create opportunities. It's been an eye-opener for some of the former travel "stars" that they aren't the ones getting moved up age groups, etc. Some parents can't handle not being able to suck up and feel frustrated. I will say after being at two of the top Clubs in the area, my son has touched the ball more from Sept-November than he would in an entire year at those old Clubs. The practices are unbelievable and there is zero down-time. If the parent were actually watching the training, he would have noticed a considerable improvement in the players ball possession, decision-making and movement to create space. A lot of the big Clubs do not teach this or even value it. My child went back to play indoor with former Club teammates this month and has progressed heads and tails over them in the last few months. He commented that everyone seemed 'rusty'.
