If you move to mclean, note that the PTA meetings are held during work hours. Most people have one spouse that doesn't work, and 99% of the time the spouse is female. PTA General Membership Langley Wed, November 15, 9am – 11am http://www.ptsalangley.org/
this is a board for moms!
Wut?
Is that a bad thing that one spouse doesnt't work? Good for the Langley PTA. Last time I checked, their PTA fund has over 250K
no, but poster should know that. a 2 working couple would not fit in. Herndon has PTAs at night so all can join. Langley/Mclean have them during the day so the stay at home mom can go. no one has to work.
sorry, but it's just not true that most families in these schools have SAHMs. there are plenty of two working couples- probably most of them actually. my kids are not at these schools, but we also have PTA meetings in the work day - most people attend and then go into work late that day. in affluent areas many of the parents have flexible jobs where they can show up a bit late once a month.
I came in to post the same thing. This isn't the 50's in western PA where if you don't clock in at the same time everyday, you loose your job at the mine. hell, I'm low-t-mid- level management (regional director) and I can go in pretty much anytime I want so long as my work gets done. Two weeks back I managed to be the chaperone for my daughter's filed trip and somehow managed to stay employed.
