I think people are making a mountain out of a molehill with regards to that statement.

If Spacey has had male and female relationships in his life, he is likely bisexual or at least at some stage in his life felt comfort with bisexuality, which is a confusing and misunderstood place on the human sexuality scale.  Eventually he probably came to terms with the fact that he preferred being with men more than with woman, so he chose to live life as a gay man.  Yes, that is a choice, the same way some gay men "choose" to live in closet an deny their sexuality while marred to women.  He didn't say "being gay is a choice."  He just decided that being with men was more fulfilling than women, and for some people, that is a choice.

I don't think it's a mountain out of a molehill at all. It just confirms the confusion and, to me, raw sadness that people faced with homosexual feelings live with. "Bisexuality" is a synonym for "really, really mixed up." As he is demonstrating.[/quote]
