Honest to god we are nuts with paranoia around here - will you prohibit your children from ever using a public bathroom with strangers in it?
YES. And screw you if you don't like it. Not even going to take the remote chance of my kid encountering a pervert.
Then keep your child away from male relatives, because that's where the greatest danger is.
I don't care about the level of danger, (least, greatest) neither level of risk is acceptable to me. My kids will not go into bathrooms with strange men.
Lack of logical risk assessment isn't something to brag about.
By your logic, a stranger in a bathroom presents a small risk of danger to my child. I am not ok with even a remote risk. It is no trouble to "clear" the bathroom and then watch the door while my child is in there. It is certainly less trouble than caring for a traumatized kid.
You are nuts - you can't watch your child every minute and prevent exposure to every possible risk in this world. Even within the confines of being paranoid and insane (and you are both) you need to at least narrow the risks down to those that pose an actual threat in order to be able to function in society. Your child using a public bathroom by themselves is not one of the threats you should be expending energy on.
