I think that when the school board decides to get rid of a school name that was picked in the 1950s to express resistance to civil rights, that helps all of us. I also think that when kids who are transgender can go use the public restroom just like kids who are cisgender, that helps kids who are transgender, as well as those of us who care about the education of all children. You can't learn well when you're worried about where and when you're going to be able to use a restroom.[/quote]
