Ben is an alcoholic. Knowing what I know about addicts he was probably attracted to her because she enabled/tolerated his alcoholism and Jen did not.  Ben and his ugly mistress deserve each other.[/quote]

Uh, Jen certainly did tolerate his alcoholism. Can't say if she enabled it, as we aren't privy to the reality of their marriage, but she tolerated his alcoholism, gambling, and cheating for years. The divorce only happened because he refused to quit his mistress after four years.[/quote]

I seriously doubt that anyone with means who is moderately sane or grounded would allow an untreated alcoholic around his or her children.  [/quote]
