Loved the petting zoo at Wheaton Regional.  I remember getting bit by a duck.  And the train (which is still there).  But when we were little everyone would scream their heads off when it went through the tunnel.  And the playground.  All those awesome metal pieces of equipment with bolts and some were at least 2 stories high.  [b]There was that one really tall thing and you would climb a ladder straight up through a tunnel and there were like 5 slides to get back down. YES!!  And there was like a 2-story tall curly slide (metal, of course).  I remember being so proud of myself once I got up the courage to go down the thing.  And I wish the petting farm was still there for my little ones now.

Loved the huge Gifford's in Silver Spring (now a daycare center).

How about playing in the fountain at Woodside Park?  That was like the original Silver Spring fountain ... and does anyone remember how they used to pipe water through the fake "silver spring" in Acorn Park?

The McDonald's in Silver Spring had a neat indoor play area with plastic life-size figures of Ronald, Grimace, the Hamburglar and the Fry Guys.

And what about Captain Andy's Rivertown in Wheaton - it was a knockoff Chuck E. Cheese.[/quote]
