My grandfather constantly encouraged me and all other grandsons to pee sitting down. He was straight out of the 'greatest generation' storybook - grew up on farm, mechanical engineer, married on eve of shipping off for WWII, military officer in Korea, all sorts of military decorations, lost part of his thumb in the War, married to the same woman his whole life and died within a year of each other - complete straight arrow tough guy. He always said peeing while sitting was how the WWII soldiers were taught, to avoid making any mess that someone might have to clean up later. Being a know-it-all kid, I ignored him, so I pee standing up. But now that I'm older, I recognize the wisdom in what he was teaching.
My grandfather was Army during WWII and never mentioned anything about be trained to sit to pee. My Father was Air Force during the VW, and never sat to pee. I was Air Force during GW1, and no one ever told me to sit to pee. My nephew is in the Army, and he doesn't sit to pee. Stop making things up.
