I'm Jewish, my DH is Catholic. We're raising our children Jewish. He does a lot of the traditional "Jewish child-raising things" because of my schedule so he drives carpool, does Shabbat, cooks for the holidays etc. He has found that there are a lot of similarities, a least in our similarities, maybe not in doctrine, but he finds our synagogue a very warm welcoming in community, like his childhood church. We do most of the major Jewish holidays at our house or with my family and then Christian holidays he does with his family (sometimes the kids and I join him depending on schedules). The one thing we have found is that there are just some things that I know that he doesn't- but after 10 years he has picked up a lot. He makes great brisket, chicken soup and knows most of the major blessings. My point is that he has really focused on the similarities (and after 12 years at Catholic school he was very familiar with the Old Testament) and the community aspect of Judaism and it has worked for us. We talk to the kids (9 and 7) about how we are Jewish but that Daddy is Catholic and so sometimes we go to help support him celebrate Christmas, Easter etc., etc. We're not super religious but the kids went to a religious pre-school and now go to Hebrew School and we try to do Shabbat or go to Shabbat Services every month (the kids love it). Anyway, works for us.
