POTUS is popular with mil ppl. Retiree with Retiree spouse, son Marine. Marine set to deploy in summer. Trump all day.
Did you speak up to defend the Khan family against DJT's attacks? If no, why not?
The Khan's were using their dead son to garner votes for their candidate. If you insert yourself into a political race you do so willfully, and any push back you receive is on you. We don't know how Cpt Khan felt. The parents were speaking for themselves and their candidates. Last night, the wife of a fallen SEAL was recognized and honored. I am astute enough to not be played, and honor those who deserve it.
I was incredibly moved by her grief. I was also uncomfortable because it did feel to me that Trump was using his death and her obvious love for her husband for political gain. His remark following the applause where he talked about the record setting applause and Ryan looking down and being very happy about the applause made me feel it was political on Trump's part. I hope I am wrong about Trump because her husband gave his life for our country. I want a president who takes the Commander in Chief job so seriously that he would never make a go/no go decision over a dinner with a couple of aids. I want a Commander in Chief who takes responsibility for any loss of life that occurs following a decision he makes to send our brave men and women into harms way. Our men and women of the armed forces and their loved ones deserve nothing less. For the record--anyone who tweeted out anything derogatory about his widow is the idiot. That issue should be bipartisan.
