I was telling my DH the same thing. Over my lifetime, I've been stopped several times by local cops for minor traffic offenses. Each time I was so flustered that I couldn't think straight. It could have easily been me trying to drive away from an LEO and doing it in such a way that I gave them the wrong impression and they felt compelled to fire in to my car. Luckily, most local cops are not so trigger-happy, especially around white women like me driving a mom van in my peaceful, mostly-white suburb. [/quote]

Exactly this. I've been pulled over a few times for minor traffic things over the years, and during those initial moments when the lights are flashing and I pull over to the side over the road, my heart's racing, adrenaline's flowing, I'm not thinking clearly, etc. [/quote]

Frankly that is a normal reaction of a law abiding person who has minimal interaction with law enforcement. Also, the effect on our car insurance [/quote]
