Camilla had a wealthy aristocratic background.  Kate’s family was solidly middle class on her father’s side and two of her aunts worked at Bletchley, a bastion of educated women. Kate’s mother is a self made millionaire who guided Kate’s relationship with William.  Kate has a desirable blend of her father’s solid Englishness and her mother’s scrappy financial nous.
