https://go.boarddocs.com/vsba/fairfax/Board.nsf/files/DN829T0122CD/%24file/11-12%20Work%20Session%20-%20FCPS%20Boundary%20Review%20Presentation.pptx%20%20-%20%20SB%20Final.pdf
So, kids "opt in" before they know if they will be "in boundary" and won't know for sure if transportation will be provided? Who made this timeline for the Western school? It defies logical thinking.
It is such a clusterf*. How are 8th graders supposed to pick their courses if they won't even know if they are zoned for the school until June?? If the staffing isn't even done until the spring??
Reid made a big deal of saying the school would have the same standard course offerings of a traditional high school.
IB doesn’t start until Junior year, so no big deal. I suspect that AP classes offered to Freshman and Sophomores want to do will be made available. They want kids to opt in so they are not going to short change class offerings for Freshmen and Sophomores. There are not that many AP classes offered in the first few years.
