What you are referring to is selective reduction, which some women choose if they end up carrying higher order multiples (which is more likely to occur naturally or through ovulation induction followed by timed intercourse or IUI). Most reputable IVF clinics won’t transfer more than one or maybe two embryos at a time. Other “fertilized eggs” that become viable embryos are frozen for future use. And, yes, IVF is most certainly a target for some on the pro-life side.
