Yes that was in response to PP’s observation that Joe Klein opined that Walz did nearly as bad as Biden. I think that Walz was awkward here and there but he did better than Biden. Also, he is running for VP not P. [/quote]

Walz did fine and got better as he went along.  He is not a smooth talker but he said substantive, thoughtful things and he nailed Vance to the wall at the end about Jan 6.[/quote]

Walz is a terrible speaker, the entire debate he was angry, anxious and lost. Adding that to Harris's terrible speaking skills, together they will be a joke for many years to come.[/quote]

Oh please / even a  majority of Republicans conceded that Harris won the debate.

The jury is out on the VP debate but many people think Walz came off as more genuine and substantive despite being more awkward. Vance lied more smoothly but he made many major blunders and not all his pivots worked (such as retorting to question “who do you think won the last election?” With “I’m looking to the future”. Not many of us want a future of violent insurrections and non peaceful transfer of power again. [/quote]

Despite his definitely awkward demeanor (shame nerves got the best of him), Walz won on substance. Health care, abortion, gun control, democracy. Even immigration had a solid response. Vance played at being agreeable and being a compassionate conservative, when we all know the truth, have seen it clearly over the past several months.[/quote]
