The combination of Democratic votes and an on-the-record, highly visible reminder of his (admittedly brief) stance against Trump and other insurrectionists will erase whatever remains of McCarthy’s ability to lead the Republican party and the House … from the very first day of his Speakership.[/quote]

Not quite. McCarthy then flew to Mar-a-Lago to appease Trump. So he's a traitor, and he will not be helped.
