When the controlling party breaks its own rules, then the nominee is illegitimate [twitter]https://twitter.com/vanitaguptaCR/status/1319267234464829440[/twitter]
Perhaps the Democrats should show up for meetings instead of walking out like children.
It was a stunt befitting a state legislature, not the United States Senate. The senators did the exact same thing as McConnell in 2016--they abdicated their responsibility. McConnell was wrong then and the Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee are wrong now. The poster above is a serious candidate to be the next Attorney General. Her comments are in line with statements made by Sen. Harris at the VP debate. "They" are coming for you is a scare tactic worthy of the current administration. Democrats should be better. It is also completely inappropriate for United States senators to hinge their vote on how a judicial nominee might vote on a case that would come before her in court. Most of the senators on the Judiciary Committee are lawyers and know better. Trump will be playing golf in Europe or Saudi Arabia in 3 months. He is finito politically. Democrats need to quit acting like him and learn to govern.
"Hinge" probably would have read better as "condition" above. My bad.
